Hi 👋 I’m Angela.

I’m a registered Midwife, with 25 over years experience.

I trained in midwifery in London, returning to Ireland where I’ve worked in The National Maternity Hospital and in the Regional Hospital, Mullingar.

I’ve been a lead Midwife with Private Midwives Ireland and I’m currently working as a self-employed Community Midwife for the HSE’s Homebirth Service.

Throughout my career I have worked in all aspects of midwifery and gained an invaluable understanding of the diverse needs and expectations of expectant parents.

I know first-hand the profound impact that a positive birthing experience could have on the mother, her partner and her baby. This realisation led me to explore various childbirth techniques, ultimately bringing me to the world of hypnobirthing. Recognising the immense potential of hypnobirthing to empower mothers and instil confidence in their bodies, I embarked on a mission to integrate this technique into my practice.

Over the years, having attended hundreds of births, this experience has allowed me to fine-tune my approach and cultivate a deep understanding of the physical, emotional, and psychological aspects of childbirth. With a commitment to staying up-to-date with the latest advancements and research in childbirth , I offer a wealth of knowledge to guide expectant parents through the entire birthing process.

What is hypnobirthing?

Hypnobirthing is a childbirth education method and technique that aims to help expectant parents have a calm and positive birthing experience.

It is based on the idea that fear and tension can lead to more pain and discomfort during childbirth, and that relaxation and mental preparation can lead to a smoother and more comfortable birthing process.

The term "hypnobirthing" might lead some to believe that it involves being in a deep trance or hypnotic state, but in reality, it's more about achieving a state of deep relaxation and focus.

The techniques aim to create a sense of control and confidence during labour, it is designed to release fear and build confidence in the birthing process.
